Applications of the future
IT departments have experienced decades of project failures or, at best, lowered business expectations. Software defects cost our economy billions. Cynics abound that IT is no longer strategic and recommend vendor consolidation or off-shoring to lower costs.
Now, we are at the threshold of the greatest growth in software history, an almost 100% replacement cycle for existing applications.
This replacement cycle is driven by most organization’s dissatisfaction with their legacy applications. This replacement cycle is possible because of extraordinary innovation in applications development technology and methodology. For the first time ever, tools exist to let business people take control of the functionality of the next generation of applications, which we call 21st Century Applications. Because business drives 21st Century Applications development, the new generation of applications will differentiate businesses, improve service, improve management quality and reach, speed and improve compliance, stimulate growth with new products and services, and grow margins.
21st Century Applications deliver power features and capabilities not available in legacy applications. So, the next generation of applications is going to change the way we manage, conduct, and interact with businesses. Because of our background, we understand and explain the profound business impact of 21st Century Applications. Biographical Summary: Jeffrey L. Walker founded TenFold in 1993.
